I just called AT&T to have them set up a wireless network at our apartment, and I have a apple airport express. Do I need a modem? If yes which kind of modem do you recommend?
they supply the modem, you just plug in your wireless airport router to the modem that they will install, and if you have a laptop, it already has the wireless card to connect to your router. Otherwise you can get a wireless usb adapter to connect your other computers to.
? u?o? ?
AT&T will provide you with a modem, and if they're going to set you up with wireless, then you don't need to get anything. If all they give you is the modem, you can just connect your airport express to serve up wireless, but they may be providing you with a wireless AP/router already.
Well if You called them To Set up a Wireless Network, they should have Given you one, But I would recomende Netgear, it is wireless, and can hook up aobut 4 computers with Ethernet.
they will supply the modem and instructions. If you cant figure it out give them a call and they will walk you throught it while you're on the phone.
yeah you need a wireless modem to be installed in ur apartment. Sometimes they would give you a user-name and a password which you only need to use at first. Each company deals better with a specific modem brand so just ask AT&T what brand they would recommand.
You plug Airport into the modem AT&T provides.
They are not that fast though. They use Speedstream which is okay.
We barely got 1.5 Mbps.
So we switched to Cavalier 434 Mbps for $50/month. No 'extra' anything!
