How do I restore my laptop to how it was the day I bought it without a recovery disk?

I have a Sony Vaio and I'm ready to restore this sucker. I have done it on a Dell without a disk before, and I think you held some sort of combination of ctrl, alt, f8 or f12, or something like that, when it was booting up. I can't remember how it was done but I know it can be, seeing as my laptop didn't even come with a disk.

Yeah it didn't come with a disk because you're supposed to create them when you first get it.

You *should* have a recovery partition that you can access. However, it differs for each computer how to start the recovery process (even on computers of the same brand).

There should be a recovery wizard so you can create some restore disks. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to do this

If you have your OS preinstalled there should also be a recovery disk on one of the partition of your HDD.

Hit F10 during Sony logo at startup to access the recovery partition and return it to factory settings.
