Thread: How can I add a nw HDD to my laptop with out loosing all of my programs and operating system?

I currently have a 200gb HDD in my laptop but want to upgrade to 500gb but I dont want to loose everything on my current HDD. Files are not a problem to backup its just programs and operating systems take time to install. Thank You for you help.

clone it a free way is to use clonezilla you then save the image as a file or as a ISO to later put onto the other hard drive

you could ether put all of the files onto a external hardrive and then put the new one in and then put them on your laptop.
OR
some places will transfer all of your files onto a norther hardrive for you this is probably the best option because you don't have to spend another bulk of money on another hardrive(external)
