Why is it important for it to have a high boiling point?

This is because refrigerators work on the principle of cooling the inside by drawing the thermal energy out of the inside and releasing it on the outside via compression.

If the gas boiled at a low temperature it would expand to the point of breaking the containment of the cooling circuit.
