It does depend. If it is a transfer from your account to the IRS, that happens instantaneously. Other transfers are much slower.

Usually by next business day, but you should allow 2 business days if you do it to late during the day. Sometimes the cutoff time is 2 PM, but that may depend upon time zones.

Transfer between accounts at the same bank may happen quicker. Or in some cases an account being transferred from or to for the first time might be longer.
