How long does an employment agency get a percentage of my salary?

I got hired through a placement service. I'm not a temp, but permanant hire. I was wondering how long my company had to pay them.

They will tell you how long. Usually, it's as long as you work for the company.

I work for a temporary staffing agency and we do direct hire as well. We charge our customers (your company) a percentage of your annual salary. Your salary would be no different if you were hired directly through your company rather than placed through the agency (a common misconception is we are taking part of your salary...we are not. It is a fee that we are charging the customer that is based on your salary). When that fee is paid (either in one lump sum or weekly) your salary will more than likely remain the same; unless you are a temp-to-hire.
At my company we spread the payments for the recruiting fee out over 3 months. I hope this helps!
