Thread: Why does the internal structure of a chloroplast and mitochondria make them so efficient?

In other words, how do the structures of a chloroplasts and mitochondria make them good at their respective jobs?

They are highly compartmentalized organelles- all of the molecules necessary to make them work are contained in one place.
