What is the relationship between Golgi apparatus and the endoplasmic reticulum?

Can you explain with details? I don't really understand how they're connected.

golgi apparatus (g.a) are membrane bound vesicles that arise from the plasma membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum(e.s). these are secretory vessicles containing enzymes and hormones produced in the e.s that are released at the outer surface of the cell or at any other site of the cell.
you can compare this to small soap bubbles made out from bigger ones by trying to bring a division in the big one without breaking it.when the small ones form they contain the same portion of air present in them as was present in the bigger one.
golgi contain receptors on them that tell them where they are meant to reach and release their content.
