What are some of the dangers of releasing these organisms into the wild?

With transgenic organisms there are always risks. One that I know of is genetic drift of herbicide resistance. Some corn is now produced to be resistant to applications of herbicides, but wild grasses are capable of being pollinated with corn pollen. This transfers the resistance and makes these grasses and other weeds survive the spray.
