Which organelles are required in a cell to allow it to reproduce itself?

And are there any GOOD articles/links etc which explain how this occurs [for the beginner-intermediate?]. Also a site which gives a description of and explains the roles of the different organelles within the cell?

Thanks so much. 10 points to the best answerer.

Nucleus, which has chromosomes, whose division initiates cell division.

There are no specific organelles that allow this per se. Although, I suppose that there are some phases of cell reproduction that couldn't occur without certain organelles. They need chromosomes, spindle fibers, and other parts that actually do work during reproduction. Check out this source. Be sure to search around on the page's links also. A nucleus is not a technically correct answer, as prokaryotic cells do not have nuclei, but do undergo reproduction.

You would be best to pick up an old textbook on anatomy and physiology(A&P) at your library or ask at any college campus. There are whole sections on cell traits and types. Good luck.
Mitosis is the process at which cells reproduce and centrioles are responsible organelles in reproduction.
