How do you deal with possibily mistaken advertised cars?

Ok so heres the deal. There is a car I saw in the newspaper and I am pretty sure that instead of 25,995 they have posted 5,995. If they have advertised at that price and I show them proof and they still have the car in stock; then do they have to sell the car to me at that price?

No. If it's a typo or other error, the seller has no obligation to sell at an erroneous price. Nice try, though.

Mistakes happen. If a customer tries to get serious about false advertising or insists on buying at the ad price the dealer merely contacts the newspaper who will print a retraction and claim a typographical error. Most people don't realize that even advertised prices that seem reasonable are followed by extremely small print, (qualifiers), that make the ad price nearly impossible to meet.

No they don't. The seller is not responsible for printing errors made by the newspaper.

Unless you can prove that they intentionally misled you there is no way they can be held to that price.

No, contrary to what some people say. The dealer is NOT responsible for a typographical error. If they put a sign in the car's window...that's a different story.
