What evidence is there to support the phlogiston theory? My daughter needs help with her homework.
Since it was an early attempt to understand the mechanics of combustion, the principle evidence to support it was the loss of mass of substances as they burned. Suffice to say, this only worked as evidence with a highly limited data set.
