    How long does it take to become comfortable with straddle splits?

    I'm wondering since I see gymnast and other people can go down in 5 seconds, while I'm sweating bullets trying to open my inner thigh muscles. I can get front splits, its just the center splits I'm having trouble will. I need this flexibility for break dance.

    My first thought is Can you do side splits. If you can, you should be able to do middle splits. If you can't, try Sliding as far as you can into all three of the splits, and holding for X amount of time. I held mine before I got them for about a minute, and I was ten. I also did a lot of touching my toes and the floor. It takes me about four seconds to into my middle split standing when I'm not warmed up, and I guessing about three when I am. Google some other warm ups to try.

    It's different for everybody;

    Some girls are born able to do them... Some girls require a couple of weeks of stretching. I've been dancing for 5 years and cannot go into a full straddle; I have wide hip-bones which keep me from opening my legs all the way. Everybody's body is built differently.

    Try slow stretching twice a day. Go into the straddle and reach towards the middle and hold. Come up after about 32 counts. Then reach back down and try to go a little further each time.
