I have been asked to send someone a recording of songs I wrote. I don't know what software I need or how to use it. I do have a microphone.

I have an external audio card by creative that has in and out rca plugs.I hooked up my sound system to it then sang into the mic that way.Between the graphic equalizer in the sound system and the effects and filters built into the sound card it came out pretty good.Any sound card with an in plug will work.

is a good, free, easy-to-use program. You'll most likely want to send them the file as mp3.
