• Anonymous Hackers - we are Legion!

Anonymous was upset after PIPA/SOPA and assisted with the Blackout.

However, when a day later, after the FBI unfairly sued & shut down MegaUpload, Anonymous got extremely upset, and released the following message:

A New Era Has Come, Anonymous is no longer playing nice, and we do not intend to ever play nice.

We have seen you Corrupt our People, Corrupt our country and we will not sit and watch while you allow bills such as SOPA and PIPA to be passed.

On January 19, 2012 a popular sharing website named Megaupload was taken down. We were not hesitant and reacted quickly. Remaining to our word, we took down their main sources (??), MIAA and FBI are down.

Our Power is too strong and soon they will have to listen to the people. This is a time of action. We as a nation must come together and fight the tyrants!

Do not sit and watch Do not sit and cheer! Use your powers.

Artists be creative, Singers be lyrical, writers spread our word! We will not be silenced!

We are Anonymous! We are legion! We do not Forgive! We do not forget! Expect Us!

Update: According to Zetas has hired its own team of harekcs to track down and identify Anonymous members causing Anonymous to disavow its threat. However a group of Anonymous hacktivists located overseas appears to intend to make good on it. I guess we'll find out on Guy Fawkes day. This is an interesting organizational problem. What happens when you have an organization of faceless individuals. Anybody can put on a mask and make a video. How do you know who you are? It has probably been faced by resistance movements since the dawn of authoritarian governments. However, we should be following it because the implications for the blogging world are tremendous. Are we all suddenly going to find ourselves at war with the drug cartels and with organized crime? Will banksters start hiring their underground cohorts to take out bloggers and occupiers? The #occupy movement has evolved into a peaceful revolution, but even peaceful revolutions are threatening to those in power. They rarely let go of their ill-gotten gains willingly.

I think what they are doing is harmful to there cause the government will say they are cyber terrorists and use them as further there Internet control agenda . The only true form of information and media is the Internet , the new world order controls all other forms of media , education , tv , radio . I just hope the anonymous hackers are not just another false flag operation to fully control the Internet . Ron paul for president

idk what you GUYS are talking about but regarding china, that's where they were!! 80% of their servers were in Hong Kong. All seized...including their funds in Chinese bank accounts frozen.

The Feds should have sent a letter asking MU to take some movies or whatever that may be seen as a threat and then later shut down the site if MU refuse to comply in which in reality MU never had a chance. good point, but believe me all the m0ney they spent, they got back...went they sized $50,000,000 worth of MU assets

p.s. that system already exists; it's called a "DMCA notice", but they are saying that MU wasn't complying, and that they had been investigating them for the past TWO years....eitherway, I'm with you..they should have given them SOME kind of warning...MU really did not stand a chance.

Before I started the build, I made sure I was not breaking any Canadian Laws.
I checked with Industry Canada and, even told them I planned on downloading from the internet to broadcast to the over the air to the homes on the reserve.
I asked what would happened is someone complained. They told me that all they could do is refer the complaints back to the station manager.
      I have to disagree.

I don't know where these canadian/indian reserves are geographically located, but a "single" fiber drop will not be even close to enough for a website like megaupload. They transport 4% of the ENTIRE internet! ...I don't know the numbers but I'd assume they had MINIMUM 100x 10GE lines which equals dozens of black fiber drop-offs.

I don't know much about computers, but this person ^^ has a good point....I don't know about canada but indian reservation here in the US do have many different rules & regulations...one of the BIGGEST ones being that gambling is allowed...but then again, gambling isn't really as illegal around the world as is "piracy"

I agree with you 100%...however, the prosecutors have claimed to have PROOF of internal communication that shows that MegaUpload was infact intentionally distributing copyrighted content for profit; but since they havn't released such evidence, no one really knows yet.

As for the money laundering charge, it's due to their "rewards" program where they paid uploaders of such content to drive traffic into their website.
